■DVDとは？
DVDとはDigital Versatile Disc（デジタル多用途ディスク）の略称で、CD同サイズのディスクに高画質、長時間の映像を記録するために開発されたメディアです。
■DVD機器
DVD機器は大きく分けて次の２つです。
��DVDプレーヤー
DVDプレーヤーはDVDを再生するための機器です。最近では１万円を切るものも売られていて、再生だけであれば、ビデオデッキよりも安かったりします。レンタルビデオ店でもDVDの取り扱いは増えており、レンタル派の方にはDVDプレーヤーを購入すれば、かさばるビデオテープにさよならできますし、画質がほとんど劣化しないので美しい映像を楽しむことができます。
��DVDレコーダー
DVDレコーダーは文字通り、DVDメディアに映像を録画する機器のことです。DVDの普及とともにDVDレコーダーの価格もこなれてきて、DVDはずいぶんと身近になってきました。DVDレコーダーがあれば、従来はビデオでやっていたテレビ番組の録画もできます。しかも巻き戻しは不要、録画前に録画位置を頭だししなくても自動的に空いたスペースに録画してくれますので、とても便利です。
さて、このDVDレコーダーですが、４つのタイプがあります。
●HDD（ハードディスク）搭載DVDレコーダー
録画用の媒体として、HDDとDVDの両方を持っています。搭載しているHDDの容量で録画できる時間が変わりますが、大容量のものでは１００時間以上の録画も可能です。HDDは内臓している記録装置で、DVDのようにメディアを取り替えて録画することはできません。そのため、容量がいっぱいになってしまうと不要なデータを消さないとそれ以上録画できなくなります。ですから主な使い方としては、

このタイプは、外出が多くてテレビ番組を見ることができないので、たくさん録りだめして後でみるという方に向いています。
